| Tasting notes |
| The Alexander Valley Merlot is a full-bodied wine with approachable tannins and notes of berry and jam in the mouth, finishing with a hint of oak. |
| Wine maker notes |
| The Alexander Valley Merlot was handpicked, destemmed, and crushed directly to fermentor and cold soaked for two days. It was inoculated with cultured yeast, fermented at 88ºF-92ºF and saw a gentle remontage twice daily. Malolactic fermentation completed in fermentor before racking to small (225L) French and American oak barrels with elevation 12 months in barrel. Bottled without fining or filtration.
Stored between 55º F - 60º F will age very well for between 5 and 7 years. Because the wine is unfined and unfiltered it may produce natural sediment as it ages. |
